Eldoret Catholic Diocese Hosts Inaugural Youth Council Meeting: Leaders Plan for Mission Week and Youth Mass

On the 21st of February 2025, the Eldoret Catholic Diocese held its inaugural Diocesan Council Meeting for the youth at the Diocesan Pavilion. This significant event marked the beginning of a new chapter for the youth across various parishes within the diocese, bringing together the newly elected youth leaders who were eager to embark on their roles with enthusiasm and dedication.

The primary agenda of the meeting was to plan for the upcoming Mission Week and Youth Mass, events that are anticipated with great excitement. Mission Week is an important event in the diocesan calendar, dedicated to outreach, evangelism, and community service. During this week, the youth will have the opportunity to engage with the community, share their faith, and demonstrate the values of love, compassion, and service that are central to the Catholic faith. The Youth Mass, on the other hand, is a special celebration that brings together the young people of the diocese to worship and celebrate their faith in a dynamic and youthful atmosphere.

The meeting was attended by all the newly elected youth leaders from various parishes within the Eldoret Catholic Diocese. These leaders, who have been chosen to represent the youth, will play a crucial role in organizing and facilitating the events of Mission Week and the Youth Mass. Their participation in this planning meeting was a testament to their commitment and readiness to take on the responsibilities of their new roles.

During the meeting, the youth leaders discussed and deliberated on various aspects of the upcoming events. They shared ideas, formulated plans, and set objectives to ensure the success of Mission Week and the Youth Mass. The discussions were vibrant and filled with a sense of purpose, reflecting the leaders’ passion and dedication to their faith and community.

The Diocesan Pavilion, the venue of the meeting, provided a conducive environment for the discussions. It served as a place where the youth leaders could come together, exchange ideas, and build a sense of camaraderie and teamwork. The venue was not just a physical space but a symbol of the unity and collective spirit that the youth leaders embody.

Looking ahead, the next meeting of the Diocesan Council for Youth is scheduled for the 12th of April 2025. This meeting will be another opportunity for the youth leaders to come together, review their progress, and make final preparations for Mission Week and the Youth Mass. The anticipation and excitement for these events continue to build, and the youth leaders are poised to make a meaningful impact on their community and diocese.

By fostering a spirit of collaboration, dedication, and faith, the Eldoret Catholic Diocese’s youth leaders are set to lead and inspire their peers, ensuring that the upcoming events are not only successful but also spiritually enriching and transformative.
