Holy Rosary Sing’ore Chaplaincy Parish – 13th July 2025
On Sunday, 13th July, the grounds of St. John’s – Kobil Hostel at Holy Rosary Chaplaincy Parish were filled with music, laughter, and vibrant colors as children and youth with disabilities celebrated their annual Happy Day. This special day brought together Christians from across the deanery, uniting in a powerful expression of love, inclusion, and community.
Led by the Parish Priest, Rev. Fr. Ambrose Kipkorir, the celebration began with a joyful Mass where the message centered on the dignity and value of every child, regardless of their physical abilities. Fr. Ambrose urged the faithful to embrace the spirit of service and continue standing in solidarity with children with disabilities.
The event, which has become a cherished tradition in every diocesan hostel, is a day when church members, well-wishers, and students from various primary and secondary schools gather to visit, interact with, and bring gifts to the children. Items donated ranged from food, clothes, bedding, and school supplies to hygiene items, all aimed at improving the daily life and care of the children at the hostel.
What made this year’s celebration particularly memorable was the spirit of joy and unity that filled the air. Young people sang, danced, and played together, while visitors were allowed to learn more about the challenges and triumphs of people with disability.
Parents and caregivers expressed deep appreciation for the support shown, noting that such events not only meet material needs but also uplift the children’s spirits and promote a strong sense of belonging.
The day closed with a community meal and words of gratitude from the hostel’s coordinators. Truly, Happy Day 2025 was a celebration of compassion, hope, and the undeniable truth that every child deserves to be seen, supported, and celebrated.
